Birey-Grup Uyumu ve Çevresel Kolektif Eylem: Sosyal Kimlik Perspektifinden Bir İnceleme

Öz

İklim değişikliği, günümüzün en acil sorunlarından biri olarak çevresel kolektif eylemi zorunlu kılmaktadır. Bu derleme, birey-grup (BG) uyumunun çevresel kolektif eyleme katılım üzerindeki etkilerini, Sosyal Kimlik Kuramı (SKK) ve Çevresel Kolektif Eylemin Çevresel Kimlik Modeli (ÇKEÇKM) çerçevesinde ele almaktadır. SKK, bireylerin sosyal kimliklerini ve gruplarına olan aidiyetlerini, kolektif eylemi motive eden temel bir mekanizma olarak öne çıkarmaktadır. ÇKEÇKM ise grup kimliğinin adaletsizlik algıları, kolektif yeterlik ve ahlaki inançlar üzerindeki dolaylı etkilerini vurgulamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, BG uyumu, grup normları ile bireysel algılar arasındaki uyumu sağlayarak kolektif eylem motivasyonunu artırmada önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Literatür incelemesi, BG uyumunun yalnızca bireysel değil, aynı zamanda kolektif düzeyde olumlu sonuçlar doğurduğunu göstermektedir. Ancak, farklı bağlamlarda bu süreçlerin nasıl işlediğine dair bilgi boşlukları bulunmaktadır. Bu derleme, çevresel kolektif eylemi teşvik etmek ve sürdürülebilir bir gelecek için etkili stratejiler geliştirmek amacıyla BG uyumunun dinamiklerini derinlemesine tartışmaktadır.

Person-Group Fit and Environmental Collective Action: A Review From Social Identity Perspective

Abstract

Climate change, one of our era's most urgent challenges, demands coordinated environmental collective action. This review examines the impact of person-group (PG) fit on participation in environmental collective action within the frameworks of Social Identity Theory (SIT) and the Environmental Identity Model of Environmental Collective Action (EIMECA). SIT highlights individuals’ social identities and their group affiliations as fundamental mechanisms driving collective action. EIMECA emphasizes the indirect effects of group identity on perceptions of injustice, collective efficacy, and moral beliefs. In this context, PG fit plays a critical role in enhancing motivation for collective action by aligning group norms with individual perceptions. The literature review indicates that PG fit yields positive outcomes not only at the individual level but also at the collective level. However, gaps remain in understanding how these processes operate across different contexts. This review delves into the dynamics of PG fit to foster environmental collective action and develop effective strategies for a sustainable future.
