The Journal of South-Eastern European Studies aims to contribute to the scholarly knowledge in the field of South-Eastern European history by publishing original papers.

The GAAD is an open forum for studies in the field of history and archeology. The journal, however, also publishes research and review articles on art history, literature, economics, religious studies, and linguistics provided that they are related with the history of the South-Eastern Europe. The editorial board particularly promotes papers and reviews on the ancient history and archeology of the South-Eastern Europe as well as the Ottoman historical experience in the region.
