ARTICLE SUBMISSION

Articles to be sent to Akdeniz University Journal of the Faculty of Architecture must not be sent previously published in another journal; must not be sent for publication and not be sent in the publication process.

Authors/authors who want to submit their scientific studies to Akdeniz University Journal of the Faculty of Architecture send their article files online to the https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/aujfa journal system. EVALUATION PROCESS

Based on the n the subjects and areas within the scope of Akdeniz University Journal of the Faculty of Architecture; It publishes original articles in Turkish or English that have not been published previously or that are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The responsibility of the works published in the journal belongs to the author(s).

In the evaluation process, all submitted articles for publication undergo "a double-blind peer review" by at least two reviewers. In case of needed, Editorial Board evaluate the reviewer report and may decide to send the paper to a third reviewer. The papers are accepted, if only two reviewers agree that the paper has the novelty for publication. 

Article evaluation processes:

- Submitting the article application
- Checking the article files by the Journal Secretary, informing the author(s) to complete the missing files and documents, if necessary, renewing the application when necessary
- After the control of the article files, the Editorial Board, accompanied by the Editor-in-Chief/Assistant Editor, evaluates the suitability of the article for the purpose and scope of the journal.
- Assigning the Section/Topic editor for the article
- Determination of the appropriate reviewers for the article by the section editor
- Making reviewer invitations and receiving reviewer evaluations
- Evaluating the reviewer's evaluations by the section editor, conducting the article revision process(s) when necessary
- Submission of the positive or negative Decision about the article whose revision process has been completed to the Author(s) by the section Editor in the light of the reviewer's opinions.
- Assignment of accepted articles to the Publication Editor
- Assignment of the article, checked by the publication editor, to the Mijanpaj/Layout Editor
- The manuscripts for which the layout preparation is completed are sent to the author(s) for the necessary checks and final reading, if any, the author(s) is asked for the necessary arrangements and deficiencies
- Completing the evaluation process by giving the number and page numbers of the articles found suitable for publication in the journal.
- Publication of the article according to the number assigned to the journal

SUBMITTING AN ARTICLE:

The corresponding author submits the article application via the https://dergipark.org.tr/ system and the online journal system.

Preliminary review of the article:

The control of the article files uploaded to the https://dergipark.org.tr/ system by the Journal Secretary is carried out. Compliance with the spelling rules, especially the sections of the article, references, Figure and Table citations are examined. Cover page, article title, abstract and keywords, main text of the article, acknowledgment and information, author contribution and conflict of interest declaration information, sources and necessary parts of the article, article layout and especially after checking that the article is prepared in accordance with the journal writing rules, when necessary Deficiencies and mistakes in the article are returned to the author/authors to be completed and corrected, and the article is made available for application.

Assignment of the section/topic editor:

- For the articles that do not need structural and stylistic revisions and/or whose preliminary examination and controls have been completed, their conformity to the purpose and scope of the journal, originality and scientific contribution are evaluated and the Field/Subject editor is appointed for the article by the Section Editor / Assistant Editor.
-A detailed review of the article is carried out by the section editor and reviewers are selected for scientific evaluation in accordance with the subject of the article.
-The Field/Subject Editor performs the reviewer invitations and follows the reviewer evaluations.

Reviewer evaluation:

The article is sent to at least two reviewers who are subject experts for scientific review by the Section editor. Peer-review continues this process in a way that the author information of the article is not visible and until it receives a response from at least two reviewers.

The reviewers examine the article within the given time. The reviewer may accept the article as it is, request major or minor corrections/revisions, and reject it if it does not consider the scientific content sufficient.

Section Editor's Review of Reviewer and Author Reviews:

The section editor examines the reviewer’s comments and evaluations before forwarding them to the author(s). If the evaluation results of the reviewer’s are very different from each other, a new reviewer may be appointed.

If one of the reviewers gives a negative opinion and the other a positive opinion, the Journal Editorial Board may decide to appoint a third reviewer for the article or return the article to the author by examining the reviewer reports. In order for the article to be published, at least two reviewers must give a positive opinion.

The articles sent to the author(s) for revision are re-examined by the section editor. In case the reviewer/reviewers want to see the article again with corrections, the reviewer correspondence is made and the opinion of the reviewers as a result of the revision evaluations is taken. If minor corrections were made by the reviewers during the revision phase and the reviewers did not request it, the Section editor may not resend the article to the reviewers for review.

The article, which is accepted by the reviewers in terms of its scientific content, but for which a correction is made, is sent to the author(s) together with the reviewer suggestions for corrections. During the article revision stage, the author/authors are asked to explain a detailed revision report regarding the suggestions received from the reviewers. The author(s) is expected to explain the reasons for the suggestions they did not accept in detail, with scientific evidence and sources, in the revision report in the list of corrections.

The section editor completes the review of the reviewer reports within 2 weeks at the latest. The section editor and, where necessary, the Editorial Board make the final decision about the article, taking into account the reviewer reports and the compliance of the authors with the corrections. In case the article author/authors do not make the corrections and changes suggested by the reviewers and the Section Editor without a sufficient scientific explanation, he/she can take the necessary decision regarding the article.

The Section Editor sends the positive or negative Decision about the article whose reviewer evaluation and revision process has been completed to the author/authors and simultaneously to the Chief Editor/Assistant Editor, accompanied by the reviewer’s comments.

Informing the Author/Authors:

The responsible author/authors are informed about the article that the reviewers unanimously find unsuitable for publication and the documents belonging to the work are not returned. In case of acceptance, rejection and/or suggestions and comments of the reviewers and revision of the article with major or minor corrections, the author(s) is informed online via the https://dergipark.org.tr/ system.

Publication Process:

Articles that have successfully completed the peer-review process by the section editor are sent to the Journal Publication Editor by the Editor-in-Chief/Assistant Editor to prepare for the publication process. Layout Editor is assigned for the article that is checked by the publication editor. The manuscripts whose layout preparation is completed are sent to the author(s) for necessary checks and final reading, and if any, the author(s) is asked to complete the necessary arrangements and deficiencies.

The evaluation process is completed by giving the number and page numbers of the articles that are found suitable for publication in the journal and they are published according to the number assigned to the journal.
