Beliren Yetişkinlik Döneminde Ebeveyne Kendini Açma ve Otobiyografik Anı İşlevleri İlişkisi

Öz

Mevcut araştırmada beliren yetişkinlerin ebeveynlerine kendini açma davranışlarının, benlik sisteminin temel unsurlarından olan otobiyografik anıların işlevsel kullanımı üzerindeki yordayıcı etkisinin incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Katılımcının cinsiyetinin kontrol edildiği analizlerde anneye kendini açma niteliklerinden kontrol benlik işlevi üzerinde; olumluluk, dürüstlük ve niyet ise yönlendirme işlevi üzerinde; kontrol ve niyet aynı zamanda sosyal işlev üzerinde de pozitif yönde anlamlı yordayıcı etkiler göstermiştir. Diğer taraftan babaya kendini açma niteliklerinden kontrolün benlik işlevi üzerinde pozitif yönde yordayıcı etkiye sahip olduğu, dürüstlüğün ayrıca yönlendirme işlevi üzerinde pozitif yönde yordayıcı bir etki gösterdiği gözlenmiştir. Dolayısıyla kendini açma davranışının otobiyografik bellek işlevleri üzerindeki etkisi ebeveynin cinsiyetine göre farklılaşmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular anneye ve babaya kendini açma davranışının otobiyografik anıların farklı işlevleri üzerinde büyük oranda olumlu etkileri olduğuna işaret etmektedir. Tespit edilen bu ilişkiler, beliren yetişkinlik döneminde benlik gelişiminin arkasındaki psikolojik mekanizmalara ışık tutmaktadır.
