Afrika'da Sosyal Girişimlerin Hayata Fark Katan Bisiklet Projeleri

Year 2021, Volume: 8 Issue: 1, 297 - 325, 30.06.2021

Abstract

Year 2021, Volume: 8 Issue: 1, 297 - 325, 30.06.2021
https://doi.org/10.47097/piar.931002

Abstract

Almost all transportation is based on walking in rural Africa. Though walking protects health nevertheless in terms of education, health, and economy; shortage of transportation vehicles creates significant limitations. In order to loose such limitations Re-Cycle and VelAfrica foundations collect thrown on the scrap heap bicycles and ship them to Africa and CooP and World Bicycle Relief foundations raise donations to buy and ship brand new bicycles to Africa. This study aims to introduce these social enterprises in short and aims to introduce how lives are transformed by these social enterprises. The current case study is exploratory in its nature and sits as one of the pioneers in this domain in Turkey.
